For over a thousand years, the Old Republic ruled the galaxy in relative peace. Aside from a few pirate gangs, the odd warlord plaguing the outlying systems, and a bit of trouble with the Mandalorians, things were nice and quiet. People were mostly happy with their lives and the politicians were only slightly corrupt.

13 years ago, everything changed. The Trade Federation, having built up an unnecessarily large army to "fend off pirates", invaded Alderaan. On that day, Supreme Chancellor Bek Kallas was assassinated.
His deputy, Vice Chancellor Mal Hassna ordered the Jedi and the Judicial Forces to liberate Alderaan, which they did at some cost. Viceroy Gunray was taken into custody, the Trade Federation were ordered to disband, and the Jedi knew that the Sith had returned and began to actively search for them
(Like the aftermath of Episode 1)

2 years later (11 years ago), the Trade Federation, Corporate Alliance, Intergalactic Banking Clan, Techno Union, and the Commerce Guild formed the Corporate Confederacy and launched their bid to take over the Republic. Initial battles went badly as the Jedi and the Judicial Defence Force were greatly outnumbered.
About a month into the war, Chancellor Mal Hassna and Vice-Chancellor Taman Golvar were contacted by the Kaminoan government and presented with a vast clone army.

For 6 years, the Corporate War (also known as the Great War) raged across the galaxy before the Confederacy leaders tried to sue for peace. Most of the Jedi Order was recalled to Coruscant along with the entire Senate... with three exceptions. (Senator Franik Antilles of Alderan, Senator Ok'tra Sei'lya of Bothawui, and Vice-Chancellor Taman Golvar were absent on compassionate grounds due to the death of family members).
With the Senate in session, a new Victory class Star Destroyer mysteriously entered Coruscant's atmosphere and exploded, wiping out the Government District and the Jedi Temple.
Within minutes, the Vice Chancellor was all over the Holonet, claiming that the Jedi had destroyed themselves and the government in a failed coup. He immediately announced the reformation of the Republic as the Empire, appointed himself Emperor, and declared the Jedi illegal, issuing orders for their immediate extermination.
The military obeyed the order, wiping out all but a handful of the Jedi.

In the chaos that followed, galactic communications were sabotaged, essentially silencing the galaxy for 3 months and requiring the entire Imperial military to fall back to the Core Worlds.

Once communications were restored, Senators Antilles and Sei'lya were calling Golvar's Empire an illegitimate government and demanding the restoration of the Old Republic.
Several worlds began to back them, and the Alliance to Restore the Republic was formed.
(Can you see where I'm going with this?)
The following planets are openly part of the Rebellion.

Mon Calamari, Ithor, Kashyyyk, Dantooine*, Naboo, Sullust, Manaan, Bothawui, Chalacta

Alderaan and Caamas support the Rebellion but remain under the iron grip of the Empire.
Corellia's government doesn't much care either way, but a large number of the population have left to join up.

Just about everywhere else except the really remote planets are either Imperial-held or Neutral.

While the Government District of Coruscant is rebuilt, Emperor Golvar, Grand Vizier Darth Shadus, and the rest of the Imperial High Command are ruling from Anaxes, the Defender of the Core.

*Because of Dantooine's remote location and primitive natives, it is the ideal location of a secret Rebel base.

In recent months, a new generation of heroes have joined the Rebellion, recruited by Wes Blake and Arrisa Nol.
The young heroes acquited themselves admirably on the Golden Stars and began to learn the ways of the Force with Arrisa as their guide.

The heroes' next mission was to Onderon, a planet on the brink of a momentus decision; to join the Empire or the Rebellion. Despite terrible losses, the heroes were successful, gaining new friends and saving Onderon from destruction at the hands of ambitious local traitors and the might of the Empire. Unfortunately, one of the heroes was captured by the Empire, along with the Ithorian diplomat; Tomla Habat.
As shown here

Blake and the young heroes have just pulled off the daring rescue of Tomla Habat and another eight prisoners of the Empire from the dreaded Inquisitorial prison ship the Pit of Despair. They have returned to Naboo with their charges, and a defector; a Chiss Force user by the name of Pas'tess'affaré.
As shown here
The victory is short-lived however, as the heroes also bring grave news. The evil Commander Travis knows that Naboo is now a Rebel stronghold and is bringing his fleet to attack it...

Naboo - two hours after the return of Blake and the young heroes

You are all in a military planning suite at the local Alliance Headquarters, about halfway between the Palace and the city's main hangar.
The perimeter of the room is taken up almost completely with computer banks; all of which are manned by droids and organic personnel.

At the centre of the room is a large circular table with a hemispherical holo-projector in the middle. A number of computer keypads are inset around the perimeter. With you, around the table in question, are Arrisa, Blake, Captain Kurt Daba of the Freedom Star, a pair of older men in military uniforms and the rank insignia of generals, and a group of men & women wearing non-descript black jumpsuits.

One of the generals, this one with a bushy beard and moustache, and thinning grey hair stands up and activates the holoprojector.
"You can see here" he begins, pointing at the display.
"Our forces are currently arranged in high orbit above the planet itself to provide as much cover as we can. Once Travis' forces drop out of hyperspace, we will move to envelope them, striking from all sides and making straffing runs across the Imperial formation. Our goal is to cause as much confusion as possible and then to drive the enemy away in as many pieces as we can. To that end, as well as our standard fighters, we will also be utilising the new prototype A-Wing interceptors. They are lighter than the rest of our snubfighters, but faster and considerably more maneouvreable than anything the Empire can field. Additionally, they are shielded like all of our snubfighters, gaining another advantage over the Imperial fighters. Three of the four have already been assigned, but Master Bosskar has suggested the fourth be placed in the hands of a Jedi pilot. We feel the morale boost of having additional Jedi in the mix will have a considerable impact so we agree"
He pauses there and eyes Torren.
"Jedi Kast, the job is yours if you want it"

First looking at his companions, lingering on Arrisa's wonderful blue eyes, Torren's resolve solidifies as he turns his gaze toward the General. Inclining his head respectfully, he replies "I'd be honored, General."

Knowledge Tactics Check to try and find any faults and give helpful advice.

"What would have the rest of us doing? No doubt they will try to pull of some surprise or two. Good luck Jedi Kast." Cruix says as he goes over the plans in his mind.

Cruix, your tactical knowledge and Force insights reveal the inherent weaknesses in spreading the fleet around the planet, as well as the already-mentioned strengths.

"Obviously, each of you will be asked to serve where you feel your gifts and skills would be of the most use" the bearded general says.
"Do you see a flaw in the plan? Something we have overlooked?"

Cruix ponders over the Plans a moment longer.

"If i may general ... your plans seem to need a little tweaking. The first flaw i see is that by putting the planet at our back, we can't run and we'll be at a slight disadvantage from the gravity well at least at the beginning of the battle. Not to mention the obvious risk of damage to Naboo itself even if we win due to fighting in its orbit. While spreading out makes some sense when we don't know the Imperials' appraoch vector and it makes it easier to swarm from all sides, it also means they can concentrate their firepower earlier, which will weaken our position sooner than we would want."

Moving towards the Plans Cruix instructs the computer into a new arrangement alittle farther away from the planet. Taking some of the fastest ships and putting them farther out.

"Since we dont know where Travis will be coming from we should focus our smaller faster squadrons farther out to see if we can see them before they find us. And then arrange our Fleet accordingly ... Maybe hiding our ships behind this planet and try louring them in with our fighters. If they expect our fleet to be at Naboo it may catch them off guard. Looking at Torrin ... we all know of Travis's dislike for you and Blake that may make you 2 a prime candidate for such an maneuver."

Blake can't help but grin, though the bearded general seems unconvinced.

"You seriously expect a military commander like Travis to send his entire fleet after two men?" he asks incredulously.

"Why not?" Arrisa interjects, "He's done it before. The man is obsessed with killing Blake, and after their last two encounters, Torren and Kanwarr have certainly earned a share of his hatred. Travis will probably suspect an ambush but if we get him angry enough, he won't care"

She then turns to Torren.
"Besides, sweety. We know you're good enough to win this contest" she adds with a playful wink.

Cruix grins and says "Who said anything about 2 men. We'll have them be some of the squadrons we sent out to scout a head. And if by chance Travis learns that Blake and Torren are in charge and manning the fighters say by a miss communication from a new pilot. I am sure it should be enough. Also we dont want to disappoint Travis showing no regard to our base planet so we will want to keep some ships there. Ships capable of long range shots ... drawing their attention so they dont notice the other fleet. They dont have much intelligence about our fleet size and the look down at us. Why not show them what they want ... a rebel fleet not capable of combating them."

Taking in Arrisa's comment with a smirk and wink of his own, Torren turns to address Cruix and the General. "I'm sure that with our recent devastation of their prison ship and the fact that we got away from Travis twice, the Empire must be putting a lot of pressure on him to succeed with this attack." Thinking for a moment, "That said, knowing that Captain Blake and I our close and within his reach will be to tempting for him to resist."

The bearded General shakes his head and chuckles.
"Good to know the Jedi are still as crazy as they used to be" he says.
"This is just crazy enough to work. Lieutenant, contact the fleet, have four corvettes, a Marauder and two frigates take orbit above Theed. The rest of the fleet should take up a position on the far side of Ohma Duun. When Travis shows up, we send out four squadrons of fighters and the prototypes to provoke him into chasing them"

"General Varnas, sir!" one of the lower ranking personnel suddenly shouts.
"We have enemy ships coming out of hyperspace in sector 12!"

"Sector 12?" Varnas, the bearded general asks incredulously.
"But that's... that's half way across the system. Get me a visual"

The lower ranking personnel get to work, and after a few moments, the holo-image above the table changes.
It now shows an Imperial fleet consisting of 16 Star Destroyers, 20 Carrack cruisers and a single Dreadnaught at the centre.

"So much for plan A" General Varnas mutters.

"Crap....." Torren exclaims without realizing it. Looking around, "Well, what's plan B?"

"Panic?" Arrisa deadpans.
"Ok, in all seriousness we need to see how much of the plan we can salvage, and fast. Is he scanning us yet? Even if he is, he should only be able to see about half the fleet, right? The ships on the far side of the planet should be hidden so we leave them there out of sight, form up the ships he can see, and go from there. Come on people, think fast"

General Varnas nods and gestures to one of the techs.
"Do as she says, fast" he barks.
"We need a new plan and we need it now"

Cruix looks over and says "Can you pull up their location on the screen. Send scouts out immediately to verify number and fire power. I need details ... one moment plz."

Cruix goes into a trance and reaches out with the force towards the enemy fleet. Farseeing vs our friend Travis with a FP trying to find out where he is exactly.

Cruix

Your mind drifts across the system until it latches on to the sickening knot of evil that is Commander Travs.
More cramped than the bridge of a Star Destroyer, the space around Travis is a hive of activity.
You perceive the scene from over Travis' shoulder.
Clones and officers rushing about checking readings, fragments of shouted reports relaying the fact that the fleet is on station as planned and that the Alliance ships have been spotted.

You hear Travis' voice echo in your ear.
"All cruisers move to screen positions. Deploy the carriers on our flanks. The Black Striker is to initiate scenario three deployment. Have Captain Krell's men prepare for ground assault"

(Everyone else in the control room)

While Cruix delves into the Force, General Varnas deploys half a squad of Y-Wing Long-Probes to scan the Imperial fleet.
Telemetry comes flooding in, revealing the exact composition of the enemy formation. Eighteen of the twenty Carrack cruisers moving to the front with eleven Star Destroyers; all Victory class, falling in behind them. A Venator class Star Destroyer, guarded by a Carrack cruiser, takes up a position at the left and right edges of the Imperial formation.
At the back of the group is the Iron Fist, nestled between two Imperial class Star Destroyers, with the last Victory class Destroyer moving off on its own...

Standing, "General, where do you need us?" Torren asks as he goes to get a better view of the command screen....

"Jedi Kast, you're with Captain Blake and his fighter wing" General Varnas says firmly.
"The rest of you, well it all comes down to where you'll be most useful"

Watching the screen, he tries to work out what the lone Victory class Destroyer is doing.
The main body of Travis' fleet begins to advance slowly but that one Destroyer just hangs back.

"I have a bad feeling about this" Arrisa groans.

Cruix slowly repeates what he just heard. "All cruisers move to screen positions. Deploy the carriers on our flanks. The Black Striker is to initiate scenario three deployment. Have Captain Krell's men prepare for ground assault"

Coming out of his trance he looks at the positioning of the fleet ... Knowledge tactics check to try and figure out Travis's plan.

General Varnas stares at Cruix incredulously.
"What is he talking about?" he blurts.

"He just described what they're doing" Arrisa says, pointing at the screen.
"Look. If that lone Destroyer is the Black Striker, then he must have somehow projected part of himself to the bridge of the Iron Fist through the Force and heard Travis giving orders"

General Varnas nods thoughtfully, and strokes his beard, repeating the words "ground assault" over and over. A moment later someone behind him confirms that the lone Destroyer is indeed the Black Striker.

"Cruix, this is important" Blake insists, "Can you get in there again? Our survival may depend on it"

(Cruix, you think you can see a pattern begin to emerge in Travis' strategy as his fleet slowly advances. Your tactical knowledge suggests that he intends to lure the fleet out of position so that whatever ship is to launch the ground assault crew can do so with impunity)

Cruix turns to Blake and says "I can try but it is very draining. Give me a moment to rest and i will try again. I can not guarantee a success."

"Looking over at the plans ... what do you think General? Maybe he intends to lure the fleet out of position so that whatever ship is to launch the ground assault crew can do so with impunity." Says Cruix as he sits down and rests

Rests 1 min and then again tries to use his Farseeing on Travis.
