The Heavens are restless as the age passes and a new one is given birth. The days of the Lich King are over and the rise of a new menace is on the horizon. The gods themselves can not make our for certain what will happen. The only sure thing is that the fate of their world lie now in the hands of the mortals they have birthed. While some where in the Abyss a pact has been made between a Heavenly Host and a Sinister Evil is made in secret. But to the Mortals the world is at last calming down after a near century of war that nearly destroyed time and space has ended. Leaving the aftermath yet to be completely unraveled. The Ruling Academy of Magic has talked the other lands into to enforcing laws to protect their people from these unknown results. While the druids themselves have yet to resurface from near the brink of extinction. Other mortals try to return to their normal lives but few are left with much skills other then that of war. Former Soldiers who have sought peace now turn to bloody work just to survive. It is the time of Mercenaries and bandits ... of Unknown Magic running rampant through much of the world. Of the new birth nations and the fall of old. And of Adventures for those who seek out Fame and Glory.

So it comes to pass that The Weapons Master Logan is sent to the Forgotten Kingdoms to gain intelligence on the failing health of the country as it plunges further into civil war as Famine strikes the land. People are hard pressed for food and alot of unrest as stirred. Logan and his men are to if possible to bring an end to as much of the chaos as possible. They are to meet with the Local Agent and Ruling Lord of the City State Ryu. Which among 2 other city states are the only 3 that haven't closed it boarders and isolated themselves. Rumors of a strong force rising up in the southern most part of the Island has taken control of the rest of the island blockading its boarders allowing no one in or out. Logan bares a message from the council of magi asking the Lord to aid their efforts. The Lord of Ryu has only heard of some force who call them selves "The White Cloaks" of whom he assumes are extremists of the God Pelor, for they claim to follow the ways of the Light. They come offering Order and Safety in these chaotic times ... enforcing their own brand of justice. They provide the people, mainly refugee's, with food and protection from both army deserters and bandits. And thus winning the support of the people and forcing their rulers into submitting sometimes violently. The truth is they enslave the people forcing them to convert to their religion ... if you disagree or don't follow their laws to the letter you are given a choice: Serve in their Ranks or Die. Unfolding the Councils letter your mission is to sneak through the barricades and patrols and uncover who these men really are.

"Trusted Lord and Loyal Magi
We have entrusted Logan the Weapons Master and his men with the task of gathering intelligence on your situation and that of your Kinsmen. You are all that is left of our allies among those in the Forgotten Kingdoms. We know these are troubled times but we fear for your safety as well as those of your people. Please do what you can to aid these Mercenaries ... be warned we sense all is not right even in your own City State. We have received reports of an unknown influence spreading among your own people.
The Council of Magi"

The Lords Magi finishes reading the letter as Logan and the rest await his response.

Thinking hard, the Lord of Ryu rubs the top part of the scar that runs from the left side of his face, all the way down and across his chest to end almost at the small of his back. Turning to his adviser, he inquires "What do you see as viable options?"

As far as the force outside our walls, the rumors could be only rumors. It could be that they are truly here to help the people. If so perhaps they would make powerful allies. If not we may have to find a way to strike their jugular before they can lift their head. To discern that we'll have to set a meeting. As far as the thing spreading through the city; if you go with a guard of two or three, and all of you in disguise, you could find out what's going on without delay or bias. We aren't completely sure the root of our problem isn't in your own house. Then there's always the safe easy way of going to war with the intruders and tighten security on your city.

A small Grin appears on Logans face. And with a slight bow of the head he replies.

"In fact we have taken the liberty to gather some intelligence since we have landed. My contacts have reported small bands of bandits being unusually bold within certain areas of your land. Something in your underworld has them stirring. There are rumors and stories of people crossing the boarders with stories of War ... Famine ... and a New Influence. It wouldn't surprise me at all if such influences have started to spread to your lands as well."

Lord Ryu takes a close looking at the Elven man standing before him. Logan stares back with a battle harden gaze ... and the scars of a veteran solider. Something in the Lords memory makes the particular scar around Logans neck standout.

After letting this information sink in for a minute Night asks, "Do you have an idea as to what the 'New Influence' may be?"

Logan pauses for a moment ... in deep thought. Then Answers,

"I dont know for sure, i was hoping to seek your permission to find out. Its one thing to ask a few questions but we are instructed to seek your opinions on the subject. I would like to take a closer look at these boarders. Maybe it will be possible to find out where these influences are coming from. Will Mi Lord give us permission to investigate these topics?"

Turning toward them from pacing, he responses "I think that might be for the best. But what of your companions? I know of you, or rather your scar, but I am unfamiliar with the rest of your party..."

Clearly waiting for introductions, the Lord of Ryu trails off and stands still.

Logan bows his head and says, "eha, cant seem to get away from my past even in a remote Island like this. I am the Weapons Master, but if you plz i would rather not get into all that again. My two companions here are Layhanna Twilight and The wizard Vastus."

Lord Ryu and his mage finally understand these are no ordinary messengers. The Weapons Master was a great warrior during the war of the Lich king it is said he him self was there at the Lich Kings End. It is said the Lich King hung him in his throne room for crimes against his rule during his final hours. The wizard of War Wizard of Deepfell himself not a member of the Magi Order is a wizard of great renown for his part during the defense of his homeland. However they have not heard anything of this Twilight but she must possess some skill if the Council of Magi sent her with these men.

Nodding to each in turn, The Lord says "Welcome to my lands and thank you for whatever assistance you can lend, I am Ariavel Thalaer and this is my Adviser and Court Wizard, Night Shadowflake."

Taking a moment to usher them into his sitting chamber for refreshments and a place to sit, he then continues. "Now, getting intelligence from the locals is a good start, but do any of you have other suggestions or information that might also aid us?"

Logan helps him self to some water and refreshments and takes a seat. In a low tone he says,

"Our information on these white cloaks is lacking. I think we wont know what their up too until we dig a little more into the issue. The council recognizes this is a concern for both your lordship and the people, but they can not act directly for fear of interfering your little civil wars."

Logan pauses for thought a moment and continues,

"I think it would be best if your lordship keep a keen eye on his lands and especially his court. Your people may love you but your nobles may plot amongst each other or the white cloaks to do you harm. I think you should make an effort along with your court wizard to do especially that. As we continue our little investigation."
