Background
Five years ago, the Jedi were hunting to the brink of extinction by the Sith.
The last known Jedi at the time was Kira Tenmei, referred to by many simply as 'The Exile'.
Found by the fallen Sith, Darth Traya, who was now using the name Kreia, Kira sought the surviving members of the Jedi Council in the hopes of saving the Republic from Kreia's former partners; Darth Sion and Darth Nihilus.
After stopping a civil war on the planet Onderon, defending the settlers of Dantooine, relieving the choking pressure on the refugee population of Nar Shadaa, and facing her past in the tomb of Ludo Kressh on Korriban, Kira met with Jedi Masters Vrook, Kavar, and Zez-Kai Ell in the rebuilt Jedi Enclave, hoping to convince them to help her fight the Sith.
Instead, the masters told her that she was too dangerous to be allowed to retain the Force, and tried to strip it from her, only to be murdered by Kreia.
With the Jedi Masters dead, Kreia allowed the servants of former Jedi Historian, Atris, to take her to the world of Telos. Once there, she revealed that Atris had been corrupted by her study of Sith lore, but this was all part of Kreia's plan. She told Atris that in order for her to become strong enough to defeat Darth Nihilus, she must first confront and kill Kira.
When Kira arrived on Telos, she successfully defended herself against Atris, besting her in combat but sparing her life so she could seek redemption.
Kira then returned to Citadel Station, in orbit above Telos to defend it from invasion by Sith forces. She was able to repel the invasion before boarding Nihilus' flagship; the Ravager, with Visas Marr, a Miraluka Dark Jedi who had originally been sent by Nihilus as an assassin, but pledged herself to Kira when Kira showed her mercy and the light side of the Force, and Canderous Ordo, former companion of Revan, and the new holder of the title of Mandalore, leader of the Mandalorians.
Together they confronted Darth Nihilus, defeating him in battle before blowing up the Ravager.
After a brief discussion with Admiral Carth Onasi, Kira and her companions followed Darth Traya to Malachor V, where Kira had long ago given the order that destroyed the Mandalorian fleet and ended the war.
The Ebon Hawk crash-landed, but Kira had no choice but to press on. Braving the savage beasts of Malachor and the massed ranks of Sith Knights, Dark Jedi, Sith Assassins, and soldiers in the Trayus Academy to reach Darth Traya and stop her from causing even greater harm to the Force.
Nothing in the Sith arsenal could stand against her, not even Darth Sion with his ability to feed on pain and stave off death. Kira bested him three times with a lightsabre before finally convincing him to give up the Dark Side.
Agreeing that his life with the Force had not been worth living, Sion surrendered to death, letting the Dark Side of the Force consume his body completely.
Kira then faced Darth Traya in the core of the academy, trying, but failing to turn her back to the Light. It was then that Darth Traya revealed that she hated the Force, and wanted to try to kill it.
Finally, Kira was left with no alternative but to fight Darth Traya, besting her in combat but showing mercy at the end.
Traya told Kira some of what was to come in the future, and told her that Revan had gone into the Unknown Regions to try to fight the true Sith Empire, before allowing the Dark Side to consume her.
Kira was rescued from the collapsing Trayus core and left Malachor behind aboard the Ebon Hawk.
Bao-Dur's remote, and G0-T0 were lost when the remote activated the mass shadow generator, causing Malachor to collapse into four parts.
The Ebon Hawk then set course for the Unknown Regions, to find Revan, and help against the Sith Empire.
That was then...
Five years later, the true Sith Empire has grown tired of waiting in the dark. They came bursting onto the scene with more fire-power than even Malak had been able to direct against the Republic. The Sith Academy on Korriban has been rebuilt, and once again disciples eager to learn the Dark Side of the Force have flocked there.
Revan is still missing in action but Kira and the crew of the Ebon Hawk found signs that he had been alive almost to the day before the Sith Empire launched its invasion of the Republic. After that, the trail went cold. Revan's fate is once again uncertain.
A score of worlds along the Outer Rim have fallen to the Sith Empire, not through armed conquest, but through mass conversion.
The new Jedi Council on Coruscant, including Bastila, realizing the seriousness of the attack have pledged the full force of the Order to defend the Republic.
The War of the Force has begun...

It is once again a time of upheaval in the galaxy. The Republic and the Jedi Knights have barely recovered from the Dark Wars but the Sith menace refuses to die.
Pouring forth from the Unknown Regions, the deadly and implacable Sith Empire threatens to once again flow across the galaxy like a dark tide, overwhelming any who stand in their way.
A Republic base near the frozen world of Rhen Var, functioning as a spy station, has sent out a garbled distress signal. Anxious to learn the truth of the situation, the Galactic Senate has dispatched a cruiser to investigate the situation. Suspecting foul play, the Jedi Council have assigned some of their most promising students to the mission...
The swirling blue of hyperspace gives way to the blackness of realspace. Blackness that is broken by the comforting pinpricks of distant stars, and the curved golden terminator line of a nearby moon. The moon in question is the home of the monitoring station that has mysteriously fallen silent.
The Republic cruiser Twilight's Touch glides easily into orbit, though all attempts to hail the base are met with silence interspersed with static.
Moments before the ship can begin its descent into the thin atmosphere of the moon, it comes under attack from all sides.
Explosions rock the ship, sending crew and passengers sprawling across rooms and corridors. Standard white lights flicker and die before being replaced by red emergency lights.
The ship continues to shake violently, and all comm units ring out with the words of the captain. "We're under attack! All hands to battle stations! Engineering and damage-control teams get busy on the generators or we'll be meeting the ground a whole lot more violently than we'd like!"

After being enlightened by Kaji I jump out of bed, grab my gear and rush off down to the engine room to see if I can lend a hand fixing it.
Star Wars never disappoints when they release a new game. Knights of the old republic was a fun game to play on PS3. The concept of this game explored the darker side of the star wars universe and it just captivates you. Have you played it on a led tv?
