"I don't really want to disturb him" she says softly.

"I'll leave him a message, then." Torren replies while walking to their room to get dressed and ready his gear. A few minutes later, he returns to where Arrisa is and asks "So, should I wait to walk with you or do you think I should go sooner rather then later?"

"I'll be ok, sweety" Arrisa says as reassuringly as she can.
"If anything goes wrong, we can call each other. But we have responsibilities to the people that we rescued"

She leans forward and kisses you gently on the lips.
"And with a baby on the way, we do have to show that we can be responsible" she whispers after the kiss.

Chuckling "I suppose that is true." Torren says as he rubs Arrisa's belly. Kissing her one last time, he turns and makes his way out of their 'home' and heads to where Stessa, and the others they brought with them, is supposed to be...

Though marred by the terrible destruction caused by the Imperial attack, the city of Theed is still beautiful; a marvel of wondrous architecture.

As you walk through the streets, it seems you are not the only one who thinks so.
Waiting for you, and wearing a form-fitting black jumpsuit in place of the armour that she wore about the Pit of Despair, is Stessa.

Her face seems to light up as she catches sight of you, but she says nothing yet, offering only a friendly smile in greeting.
Her glowing eyes seem to bore into you, and you get a strong feeling that this is no co-incidence...

Returning her friendly smile with one of his own. "Hey Stessa, you have good timing, I was just coming to find you all and have a chat for a bit. Do you think the others from the PoD would mind helping with the Restoration efforts later today?" Torren inquires, choosing not to show his curiosity from her being here...

"I imagine some of them would be more inclined to strike back at the Empire immediately" Stessa says thoughtfully, closing to within touching distance of you.
"Many of them have been hurt, and it is only natural to strike out at those that hurt them. I would consider such a desire to be dangerous and foolish. Strike your enemies by all means, but not out of anger. Strikes should be made carefully and calmly after the gathering of suitable intelligence, not as an unthinking reaction. Don't you agree, sweet Torren?"

Trying hard not to blush, Torren, at the least, keeps his voice clam as he replies. "Yes... uhh, ahem... I do agree that striking in anger is the wrong answer. That is one of the reasons I want to talk with them."

Turning aside a bit and shifting back a step while faining deep thought, he continues "As to gathering Intel, what would you suggest?"

"This whole Rebellion seems be based on incomplete information" Stessa purrs, stepping closer to you and gently placing her hand on your chest.
"While some of the Empire's practices, and their commanders are immoral, the fact remains that they do at least have a legitimate reason for one aspect of policy; military expansion. There are things out there that must be fought, Torren, and for that reason alone, I will never advocate wholesale destruction of military assets"
She moves in closer and lowers her voice.
"Trust me when I say that everyone in the galaxy will come to welcome the vastness of the Imperial military. Your true enemies are the Emperor, the Grand Vizier, the Inquisition, and any of the commanders that are genuinely evil. The rest will be needed soon"

Torren is momentarily taken by surprise by Stessa's words and just stands there gapping at her. Forgetting how close she is, he asks "What, exactly, do you mean? Is there some threat out there that we don't know about... I agree that information is the key to success and without knowing what we're up against, is a fools errand. So... is there anything you want to tell me, Stessa?"

Stessa looks at you, obviously conflicted.
"I... I don't know how much I can tell you" she admits.
"Most of the details are classified, so please do not press me for specifics as my oath of loyalty to my people means I cannot give them to you without my commander's permission. We should go somewhere private. I will then tell you as much as I am allowed. Please"

Indecision grips him only for a moment, deciding that this information must be important, Torren says "Ok, we can go somewhere you feel safe talking about this... but, please remember, I only want to help. If you tell me something in confidence, I won't say a word to anyone unless it is a life or death situation."

With that, Torren sweeps an arm out, palm up, inviting her to lead the way...

Stessa leads you to a secluded bridge over a currently empty plaza in the city.
Confident that no-one will interrupt, she decides to let you in on the 'big secret'.

"It happened just over a year ago. My Commander and an elderly human known as the Grand Admiral had combined forces to protect my people and the Empire from aggressors. While scouting a system near the Ascendancy border, they were attacked by a strange force of ships.
These ships looked like asteroids and spat plasma that ate through hull plating. They also had some form of gravity-warping shields that absorbed almost everything we could throw at them.
Later, we discovered their base on a small moon around a gas giant in a system slightly further out towards the edge of the galaxy.
Having learned from the previous encounter, we were able to defeat their forces at great cost and then stormed their base. Their warriors fought using organic technology the likes of which we had never seen. The ground engagement was every bit as bloody as the space one but thanks to Commander Thrawn's leadership we prevailed. All prisoners and materials were taken for study, and that is how we learned that we had defeated only a small advance force. More of these creatures await at the edge of the galaxy in numbers great enough to challenge even the Empire"

Absorbing it all takes him some time. After he has time to think, Torren speaks "Are you saying this 'threat' is from some unknown region of the galaxy... or extra-galactic?"

(UTF; Search your Feelings, see if it 'feels' true/right/possible?)

Stessa looks at you as if she is slightly hurt at the idea that you wouldn't believe her.
"To the best of my knowledge this species is from beyond our galaxy" she says carefully, "And they have been in transit for untold generations. They want to take our galaxy from us"

Through the Force, you sense that she believes what she is telling you but that she is afraid of betraying her people by saying too much.

Smiling warmly at Stessa, Torren says "I'm sorry I seemed doubtful. Don't worry, though, I believe you Stessa... it's just a little hard to take in."

Putting his hand on her should for assurance, "Thank you for trusting me enough to tell me... but you don't need to say more if you feel it will be betraying your people." Torren tells her, then thinks for a moment before adding "But, if you can tell me, is their... organic technology on par with ours?"

Stessa smiles at you and gently clasps your hand on her shoulder with both of hers.

"I am not entirely sure how much I can say" she admits, "But from what I have seen and heard, where we might built a machine for a task, these far outsiders will breed a creature. In some ways they are more effective, in other ways they are less effective"

Then, suddenly laughing at himself, he goes on "Well that assumes we can even understand them... heh, I'm still having a hard time even thinking that something could come from outside the galaxy... I didn't think that was possible, but it is."

Looking back at Stessa, "It's sad, really, to discover something amazing, just to find out it is horrible at the same time, isn't it?" Torren asks, looking into her eyes to gage her response.

Stessa nods.
"I'm afraid that to the best of my knowledge they want conquest and cannot be dissuaded" she says softly.

"But I agree. Proof of life from another galaxy is a wonderful discovery, but when that proof comes in the form of hostile action, it... takes all the good and the wonder away, leaving only fear"

She sighs and shakes her head.
"So many mistakes have been made out of fear"

"Very true." Torren replies, right before realizing that Stessa has his hand on her shoulder with both of hers. Suddenly feeling like he needs to blush again, Torren clears his throat, then says "Well... is this information I can share or do you want me to keep it to myself for now?"

Trying to deflect her attention from his face, he makes a point of looking around for anyone who might be near...
